Senator John Cornyn has recently addressed several issues on his social media account, focusing on Senate confirmation processes, migration trends through the DariƩn Gap, and corruption in Mexico.
On July 31, 2025, Cornyn criticized Senate Democrats for delaying confirmations of presidential nominees. He wrote, “Rather than picking & choosing the nominees they object to, Senate Dems are mindlessly obstructing the confirmation of ALL non-controversial nominees by @POTUS We should change the rules to expedite Senate confirmation We need to break the log-jam NOW.”
The following day, August 1, 2025, Cornyn commented on migration patterns at a key transit point in Central America. He stated, “Migrant traffic through the DariĆ©n Gap falls to near zero”.
Later that same day, he addressed concerns about corruption in Mexico and its implications for the United States. He posted, “Mexicoās Corruption Problem Is Americaās Problem”.
Senator John Cornyn has represented Texas in the U.S. Senate since 2002. Over his career, he has won multiple general elections: defeating Ron Kirk in 2002 with 55% of the vote; Rick Noriega in 2008 with nearly 55%; David Alameel in 2014 with over 61%; and MJ Hegar in 2020 with more than 53%.
