Senator John Cornyn, representing Texas in the U.S. Senate, addressed several political issues in a series of posts on his social media account between November 19 and 20, 2025.
On November 19, Cornyn commented on electoral dynamics, stating, “Down ballot impact is real”.
The following day, he criticized his Democratic colleagues’ participation in a Senate Judiciary GOP subcommittee hearing. In a post dated November 20, Cornyn wrote: “The fact that all but one of my Democrat colleagues didn’t show up for our @SenJudiciaryGOP subcommittee hearing today or provide a single witness to present their side of the issue shows that they want to ignore the reality of liberal violence on ICE officers & instead rely on”.
Later the same day, Cornyn addressed concerns about antisemitism by posting: “Cornyn: Antisemitism’s rise is intolerable”.
Cornyn has served as a U.S. Senator from Texas since 2002. He won his initial election against Ron Kirk with 55% of the vote to Kirk’s 43%. In subsequent elections, Cornyn defeated Rick Noriega in 2008 (54.8% to 42.8%), David Alameel in 2014 (61.6% to 34.3%), and MJ Hegar in 2020 (53.5% to 43.9%). These results have established him as a longstanding figure within Texas politics.
