Senator John Cornyn, a senior U.S. senator from Texas and ranking member on several Senate subcommittees, recently shared updates on federal funding for immigration enforcement, local crime prevention efforts in Irving, and NASA’s plans to relocate the Space Shuttle Discovery.
On March 24, 2026, Cornyn commented on recent legislative developments regarding immigration enforcement funding. He wrote, “Fortunately, President Trump and Republicans thought about this last year when we pre-funded ICE for several years in the Working Family Tax Cuts act knowing that the Democrats would probably pull a stunt like this” (March 24, 2026).
Later that day, Cornyn reported meeting with Mayor Rick Stopfer of Irving to discuss public safety and economic growth. He posted, “Good to see Mayor Rick Stopfer of @thecityofirving today. We discussed Irving’s incredible crime prevention efforts, the Fortune 1000 & 500 companies who are headquartered there, & the city’s infrastructure needs to accommodate the growth of @DFWAirport.  I look forward to” (March 24, 2026).
On March 25, Cornyn highlighted progress in NASA’s relocation of the Space Shuttle Discovery: “NASA inches forward in moving Discovery to Houston” (March 25, 2026).
