Texas Senator John Cornyn addressed several legislative and community issues in a series of tweets posted on February 2, 2026.

Later that day, Cornyn commented on the issue of minors seeking abortions across state lines. He stated, “It’s reprehensible that minors seeking abortions are trafficked across state lines to evade state laws & undermine the rights of parents.
By making it illegal to transport a minor to another state for an abortion without parental consent, the Child Interstate Abortion” (February 2, 2026).
Cornyn also highlighted his participation in a local church event honoring military service members. He tweeted, “Texas is home to generations of service members & veterans who have defended our freedoms. They understand that our nation is only as strong as the men & women who defend it.

Senator John Cornyn has held his seat since first winning election in 2002. Over multiple election cycles—including victories against Ron Kirk in 2002 with 55% of the vote, Rick Noriega in 2008 with nearly 55%, David Alameel in 2014 with over 61%, and MJ Hegar in 2020 with about 53%—he has maintained significant support among Texas voters.
