The Rice women’s volleyball team finished its 2026 spring season at Texas, according to an April 19 announcement.

The conclusion of the spring schedule marks a period of growth and preparation for the Owls as they look ahead to future competitions. The team participated in several events, beginning with the F.A.S.T. Tournament in Houston and continuing with home matches during the Lone Star Showdown against TCU and Texas A&M. Rice also hosted Houston before ending their spring slate on the road at Texas.

Looking back, Rice ended its previous fall campaign by earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after securing the American Conference regular-season title and achieving a 17-match winning streak.

Head coach Genny Volpe said, “I’m extremely excited about this team, as they have grown so much over the spring season. We have a lot of talent, but most importantly we have a group of young women who want to be great and are putting in the work. The 2026 team looks to continue to take Rice volleyball to new heights.”

With these developments, Rice aims to build on recent successes as it prepares for upcoming seasons.
