U.S. Representative Sylvia Garcia posted a series of statements on November 20, 2025, addressing community activism, transgender rights, and political rhetoric.
In her first post of the day, Garcia shared her participation in a discussion with advocacy groups. She wrote: “This morning I joined @latinovictoryus and @EDFaction and had the opportunity to speak with their members about the work ahead. When we come together, we have the power to protect our environment, defend our communities, and build a cleaner, safer future.” (November 20, 2025)
Later that afternoon, Garcia recognized Transgender Day of Remembrance by honoring victims of anti-trans violence. She stated: “On #TransgenderDayOfRemembrance, we honor the memories of those in the trans community whose lives were cut short by anti-trans violence.
With my colleagues in the @EqualityCaucus, I am committed to combating hate and ending the scourge of anti-trans violence.

Shortly after her statement on transgender rights, Garcia responded to comments attributed to former President Donald Trump regarding Democratic lawmakers. She wrote: “Trump’s call for Democratic members of Congress to be put to death is sick, dangerous, and completely unacceptable.
Every American, regardless of party, must condemn this violent rhetoric.

Sylvia Garcia has represented her district since winning election in 2018. In recent years she has secured re-election victories against Phillip Aronoff in 2018; Jaimy Blanco in 2020; Robert Schafranek in 2022; and Alan Garza in 2024.
