Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office, representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023, has recently addressed several pressing issues through social media posts. Known for his outspoken views, Hunt shared his thoughts on recent campus protests and international relations.
On May 9, 2025, Rep. Hunt highlighted the unrest at Brooklyn College by stating “BREAKING: Campus Chaos continues as pro-Hamas mobs break out at Brooklyn College! These violent agitators deserve to be arrested and prosecuted—this behavior is unacceptable.” His post reflects a call for legal action against those involved in the protests.
In another post on the same day, he commented on disciplinary actions taken by Columbia University following a protest. He expressed that “Columbia University suspended 65 students after a pro-Hamas library takeover—but suspension isn’t enough. They should be EXPELLED. And if they’re here on student visas? DEPORT THEM. America has no place for this kind of hatred on its campuses.” This statement indicates his firm stance on handling what he perceives as hate-fueled activities in educational institutions.
Later that day, Rep. Hunt turned his attention to international matters concerning China and trade negotiations with the United States. He asserted that “China needs our markets and our consumer base. Over the weekend, China needs to acknowledge they need us and come to negotiations with that in mind. President Trump holds all the cards!” This comment suggests confidence in America’s leverage over China in economic discussions.
Wesley Hunt was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and continues to reside there today.
