Representative Sylvia Garcia, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, has publicly called for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein and expressed support for survivors of abuse in a series of posts on her official X account.

On September 2, 2025, Garcia announced her intention to sign a discharge petition aimed at forcing a vote to make the Epstein files public. She stated, “I’m signing the discharge petition to force a vote to release the Epstein files. The victims deserve to be heard. The American people deserve the truth. We cannot allow a cover-up by the Felon in the White House to protect the powerful. Full transparency and accountability are”.

The following day, on September 3, 2025, Garcia posted another message expressing gratitude toward survivors who have spoken out about their experiences. She wrote, “Thank you to the brave survivors who came forward. The world must never forget the courage it took. The abuse is real. No matter what Trump says, this is not a hoax.

We will not stop standing with you. The truth must come out. Justice demands transparency. Release the Epstein”.

In addition to her statements regarding transparency and survivor support, Garcia also welcomed new interns joining her office for the fall semester on September 3, 2025: “Excited to welcome our new fall interns to Team Garcia! We are proud to have them join us and look forward to all they will accomplish this semester.”

Garcia has represented her district through several election cycles since first winning office in 2018 against Phillip Aronoff with over 75% of votes cast. In subsequent elections she maintained significant leads over challengers: defeating Jaimy Blanco in 2020 with more than 71% of votes; Robert Schafranek in 2022 with over 71%; and Alan Garza in 2024 with more than 65%.

Her recent posts reflect ongoing calls among some lawmakers for greater transparency concerning high-profile investigations involving influential individuals.
