Garcia has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Gene Green and previously represented Texas’s 29th District in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018. She has consistently won re-election by significant margins—most recently defeating Alan Garza in the 2024 general election with approximately 65% of the vote.
