Rep. Sylvia Garcia, who represents Texas’s 29th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community events and observances in a series of posts over the weekend.
On March 28, Garcia posted about her team’s participation at a local school celebration: “Team Garcia attended the centennial celebration at Milby High School and presented a Congressional Record recognizing 100 years of impact. The following day, March 29, she extended greetings to constituents observing Palm Sunday: “Wishing all those observing #PalmSunday in TX-29 and across the country a peaceful and meaningful day as we begin this season of hope, reflection, and renewal. “

Garcia has represented Texas’s 29th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Gene Green. She previously served in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018. In recent elections, Garcia secured victories over Alan Garza in 2024 with approximately 65% of the vote, Robert Schafranek in 2022 with about 71%, Jaimy Blanco in 2020 with roughly 71%, and Phillip Aronoff in 2018 with around 75%.
