She tweeted “Imagine thinking that ‘support the troops’ means letting banks keep $80 million they stole from service members, veterans, and their families. Trump is allowing this to happen under his watch.” She stressed the importance of empowering the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to prevent such incidents.

Representative Sylvia Garcia has served in Congress since replacing Gene Green in 2019 and previously held a position in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018. Born in San Diego, Texas in 1950 and residing in Houston today, she holds degrees from Texas Woman’s University and Texas Southern University.
