Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, who represents Texas’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used her social media platform to highlight initiatives ranging from service academy nominations to consumer safety legislation and concerns about energy innovation in Texas.
On July 20, 2025, Fletcher posted about her annual role in nominating students for military service academies: “Each year, I have the privilege of nominating outstanding #TX07 students to our nation’s service academies. Applications for a nomination are now available at: https://t.co/PjFJJ3YqJ0 https://t.co/RoCIskyvKD”
The following day, July 21, she addressed public health concerns related to beauty products by announcing legislative action: “Too many of the care, beauty, and salon products sold across the country contain toxic chemicals. That is why I am glad to reintroduce the Toxic-Free Beauty Act with @janschakowsky to protect consumers by banning chemicals known to cause significant harm in beauty products.”
Later on July 21, Fletcher drew attention to the impact of federal budget decisions on local industry: “A good overview of the Republican budget bill’s devastating impacts on energy innovation in Texas. https://t.co/Kbqq97dHRG https://t.co/elrvVJB8Xg”
Lizzie Pannill Fletcher has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding John Culberson. She was born in Houston in 1975 and continues to reside there. Fletcher holds a BA from Kenyon College and a JD from the College of William and Mary.
