Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, a Democratic member of Congress, posted a series of tweets on January 22 and 23, 2026, criticizing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and expressing concern over recent government actions.
On January 22, Rep. Fletcher wrote, “This week, I joined @RepDeliaRamirez and my Democratic colleagues in demanding public hearings on Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s blatant abuses of power and assaults on Americans’ constitutional rights.”
Later that day, she commented on federal spending: “This is just astounding. $1.4 billion— yes, that’s billion with a b. Americans deserve better.”
On January 23, Rep. Fletcher addressed the use of unidentified agents in law enforcement activities: “Across America, from Maine to Minnesota to California—and everywhere in between—hard-working, law-abiding people in the United States, American citizens, are living in fear because unidentified, masked agents—often in plain clothes and unmarked cars—are breaking down doors to”
Lizzie Fletcher has represented her district since defeating John Culberson in the 2018 general election with 52.5% of the vote to Culberson’s 47.5%. She was re-elected in subsequent elections: defeating Wesley Hunt in 2020 with 50.8% of the vote; Johnny Teague in 2022 with 63.8%; and Caroline Kane in 2024 with 61.3%.
