Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 7th district, shared her thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. Fletcher, who replaced John Culberson in 2019, has been active in addressing community and national issues.
On May 5, 2025, Fletcher recognized Jewish American Heritage Month by celebrating the contributions of Jewish Americans to the community and country. She stated, “This Jewish American Heritage Month, we celebrate the many extraordinary contributions of Jewish Americans to our community and country.”
Later that day, she commended the Houston Chronicle for its continued efforts in journalism amidst challenging times for newspapers. Fletcher remarked on their achievement saying, “At a time when newspapers are under so many pressures—and often under attack—it is great to see the @HoustonChron continue to do such important work—from its home base in #TX07—and to have its work recognized with the Pulitzer Prize! Congratulations!”
In another tweet on May 5, 2025, Fletcher reflected on her participation alongside Democratic colleagues at an event marking President Trump’s first 100 days in office. She tweeted about their commitment to public service: “As President Trump marked 100 days in office, I joined my House and Senate Democratic colleagues on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to demonstrate our commitment to the American people and the Constitution.”
Lizzie Pannill Fletcher was born in Houston, Texas in 1975 and continues to reside there. She graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in 1997 and earned a JD from College of William and Mary in 2006.
