Rep. Dan Crenshaw, U.S. Congressman for Texas’ 2nd district, posted on February 10, 2026 about his introduction of the Stop Gender Trafficking of Minors Act and expressed criticism regarding medical professionals involved in gender transition procedures for minors.
In a tweet posted at 16:31 UTC, Crenshaw stated: “Some states protect kids. Others exploit them. That’s why, today, I introduced the Stop Gender Trafficking of Minors Act. It will put a complete stop to the abuse of children through interstate trafficking of minors to receive life-altering and destructive gender transition”.
Later that day, at 21:03 UTC, he added: “This isn’t a doctor. It’s an executioner in a lab coat. His only credential is moral bankruptcy. Medicine is supposed to protect life, not rationalize harm.”
Crenshaw has been serving as the representative for Texas’s 2nd District since replacing Ted Poe in 2019 and has consistently won re-election by significant margins in every general election since then. In the most recent contest in 2024, he defeated Peter Filler with 65.7% of the vote; prior victories include wins over Robin Fulford in 2022 (65.9%), Sima Ladjevardian in 2020 (55.6%), and Todd Litton in 2018 (52.8%).
The Stop Gender Trafficking of Minors Act is positioned by Crenshaw as a measure aimed at addressing what he describes as the exploitation and abuse of children via interstate arrangements for gender transition procedures.
