Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Texas’ 2nd district since 2019, recently shared his views on federal responsibility and cartel dynamics via social media. Crenshaw, who succeeded Ted Poe and holds a BA from Tufts University, resides in Humble, Texas.
On May 22, 2025, Crenshaw questioned the fairness of Texas having to undertake responsibilities typically managed by the federal government. He expressed this concern in a tweet: “How is it fair that Texas had to do the federal government’s job — and foot the bill? Obviously, it’s not. That’s why I introduced the State Border Security Reimbursement Act back in 2021 — to make the federal government take responsibility. Texas state officials stepped up”.
Later that day, Crenshaw shared a link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/oTUOzSRdCj”.
In another post on May 22, 2025, he addressed issues related to cartel conflicts: “Los Chapitos—a faction of the Sinaloa cartel—is now aligning with CJNG, their supposed enemy, against the Mayo factions of their own cartel. A lot of these cartel civil wars come down to personal issues and power.” The statement highlights Ivan Guzman taking leadership within Los Chapitos.
