Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who has represented Texas’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared a series of posts reflecting on local tragedies and national issues. Crenshaw, 39, was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, graduated from Tufts University in 2006 with a BA, and currently resides in Humble.
On July 11, 2025, Crenshaw posted about his visit to Kerr County with former President Trump following a recent tragedy. He stated: “With President Trump in Kerr County. Out of this tragedy, we have seen the spirit of heroism and sacrifice that defines ‘Texas Strong’ and reminds us why America is the greatest country on Earth.”
In another post dated July 13, 2025, Crenshaw described an emotional event in Kingwood as the community gathered to honor Shiloh “Stingray” Wilson. He wrote: “What an amazing show of support today by the Kingwood community. It was an emotional sight. People lined the streets as Shiloh “Stingray” Wilson was returned home to rest and be with his parents, Jeff and Amber, who were also tragically lost in the floods on July 4th.”
Later that same day, Crenshaw addressed economic policy concerns regarding inheritance tax through another social media post: “The American market system is designed so you can create something bigger than yourself and then pass it on. That’s the whole point. A high inheritance tax is anti-family. It punishes success, kills incentive, and forces families to sell off their legacy.”
Dan Crenshaw succeeded Ted Poe as representative for Texas’s 2nd District in Congress.
