On July 21, 2025, DeAyala announced his return to Austin for the legislative session, stating: “Back in Austin for the first day of the 89th First Called Special Session. DeAyala represents House District 133 in West Houston. The current special session was called by Governor Greg Abbott to address several legislative priorities including emergency preparedness measures aimed at safeguarding vulnerable communities across Texas.
