Representative Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 7th District since 2019, continues to use social media to engage with her constituents and address key legislative issues. Fletcher, a Houston native born in 1975 and a graduate of Kenyon College and the College of William and Mary, frequently highlights local pride as well as national policy concerns.
On July 13, 2025, Fletcher acknowledged Houston’s community spirit by posting: “Happy #713Day to all celebrating our innovative, collaborative, hot, cool, friendly, fabulous city! #HTown”.
The following day, on July 14, 2025, she addressed the financial burden faced by individuals traveling for abortion care. She stated: “When people travel for abortion care, it’s expensive. I joined @RepStricklandWA in reintroducing legislation establishing a grant program to ease the burden on women & families who have to leave home for other states to get the reproductive care they need.”
On July 15, 2025, Fletcher discussed Texas’ abortion laws and her legislative response. She wrote: “Because of Texas’ cruel abortion ban, many women have no choice but to travel hundreds of miles to receive care. I reintroduced the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act to protect our right to travel between the states to access care.”
Lizzie Pannill Fletcher replaced John Culberson in Congress in 2019. She currently resides in Houston.
