U.S. Representative Lizzie Fletcher, who serves Texas’s 7th Congressional District, posted a series of updates on her social media accounts highlighting constituent services and expressing concerns about recent federal policy developments.
On August 20, 2025, Fletcher announced the milestone achieved by her office in assisting residents: “Every day, our constituent advocates work to serve our neighbors, helping those seeking assistance with federal agencies. Today, I’m glad to announce that our team has successfully resolved more than 15,500 matters for #TX07 residents!”
Later the same day, Fletcher criticized recent legislative actions taken by House Republicans regarding health care access. She wrote on August 20: “We’re in the midst of an affordability crisis and yet, Republicans just passed a bill that will make Medicaid harder to get and health care marketplace premiums more expensive. They’re turning their backs on working families’ health in favor of billionaires’ tax cuts.”
On August 21, Fletcher addressed the impact of new tariffs imposed under former President Donald Trump’s administration on housing costs. She stated: “Communities have have been battling a housing shortage crisis for decades—and now, as Trump tariffs take effect, homebuilders and buyers face rising construction costs and delays. Working families are struggling to stay housed in President Trump’s economy. #YouDeserveBetter”
Fletcher has represented Texas’s 7th district since defeating John Culberson in the 2018 general election. She retained her seat through subsequent elections against Wesley Hunt in 2020, Johnny Teague in 2022, and Caroline Kane in 2024. In each contest, she secured between approximately 51% and nearly 64% of the vote.
