Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Texas’ 7th district since 2019, has recently expressed her views on various issues through social media. Born in Houston, Texas in 1975, Fletcher graduated from Kenyon College and later earned a JD from the College of William and Mary.
On May 15, 2025, Fletcher commented on President Trump’s international engagements and domestic policies. She stated that “From saying he’d accept a $400 million airplane offered by the Qatari government to saluting Saudis, President Trump is having a great time abroad.” She further criticized his tariffs for increasing living costs and accused his supporters in Congress of making healthcare inaccessible.
Later that day, she announced an upcoming event aimed at assisting constituents with federal agency inquiries. On May 15, she tweeted about this outreach effort: “Monday, Team #TX07 will be at the Chinese Community Center to help answer your questions regarding federal agencies.” The event was scheduled for Monday morning.
The following day on May 16, Fletcher reflected on the aftermath of a severe weather event in Houston. She highlighted her efforts to secure federal assistance for recovery and criticized attempts by the Trump administration to undermine FEMA’s role. In her words: “In the year since Houston weathered the derecho, I have worked to get federal help and support our community.”
