Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 7th district since 2019, has been vocal on social media regarding recent legislative activities and national celebrations. Fletcher succeeded John Culberson in her congressional role and has consistently expressed her perspectives on issues impacting her constituents and the nation.
On July 3, 2025, Fletcher commented on House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ ongoing speech against a Republican budget bill. She stated, “As the sun rises, Leader Jeffries is still speaking on the House Floor on behalf of House Democrats about why this big, ugly bill betrays American principles and the American people.”
Later that day, she further criticized the Republican budget proposal in another post. Fletcher emphasized that “The big, ugly Republican budget bill betrays the principles and the people of the United States. It does not solve problems—it creates them, cutting funding for programs people in #TX07 and across the county rely on, raising costs for American families to pay for tax cuts for the.”
On July 4th, she took to social media to extend holiday wishes to her constituents and fellow Americans. She posted a message celebrating Independence Day: “Happy #IndependenceDay! Today, we celebrate the principles and the promise in our Declaration of Independence. Wishing all in #TX07 and across our country a safe and happy holiday.”
Fletcher was born in Houston in 1975 and continues to reside there. She completed her undergraduate studies at Kenyon College in 1997 before earning a JD from William & Mary Law School in 2006.
