Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 7th district since 2019, shared her thoughts and activities on June 6, 2025, through a series of tweets. Born in Houston in 1975, Fletcher has been active in public service and community engagement.
On June 6, Fletcher commemorated the anniversary of D-Day by highlighting the historical significance of the event. She stated “81 years ago today, U.S. and Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to fight Nazism, autocracy, and fascism, restoring peace to Europe and the world. Today, we remember and honor their courage and commitment on history’s ‘Longest Day.’ #DDay”.
Later that day, she informed her constituents about an upcoming opportunity for assistance with federal agencies. Fletcher announced “Next Friday, June 13, our Team #TX07 constituent advocates will be at the Tracy Gee Community Center to help answer your questions regarding federal agencies like Social Security and the IRS.” She also provided an online alternative for those unable to attend.
In another tweet posted on June 6, Fletcher emphasized her support for public broadcasting alongside fellow representatives Dan Goldman and Doris Matsui. She expressed “Public broadcasting is vital to the public interest. And people in #TX07 and across the country love their public radio and TV stations.” The congresswoman highlighted their collective effort urging Congress to maintain funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Fletcher graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in 1997 and earned a JD from William & Mary Law School in 2006.
