U.S. Representative Lizzie Fletcher, who has represented Texas’s 7th district in Congress since 2019, recently addressed several pressing national and local issues through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On July 23, 2025, Fletcher criticized the actions of the Trump administration, stating: “The Trump administration’s open defiance of the rule of law, its disregard for checks and balances, and its willingness to place loyalty over legality should alarm every American. @RepGaramendi and I introduced a resolution reaffirming constitutional principles. Later that day, she turned attention to recent natural disasters affecting her home state. In a post dated July 23, 2025, Fletcher wrote: “As Texans work to recover from this month’s devastating floods, it’s important that we learn from this disaster to save lives in the future. That’s why I led the Texas Democratic delegation in calling for a whole-of-government investigation into the preparation for and response”
On July 24, 2025, Fletcher discussed reproductive rights and legislative efforts regarding contraception access. Lizzie Pannill Fletcher was born in Houston in 1975 and continues to reside there. She graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in 1997 before earning her JD from the College of William and Mary in 2006. She succeeded John Culberson as representative for Texas’s 7th district after winning election in 2018.
