Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, who represents Texas’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing recent legislative and community actions.
On July 16, 2025, Fletcher shared that “Today, the House of Representatives remembered and honored those who lost their lives and those whose lives were forever changed by the catastrophic flooding in the Texas Hill Country this month, observing a moment of silence and expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love”.
Two days later, on July 18, she highlighted efforts to safeguard reproductive rights. In a tweet from that afternoon, Fletcher wrote: “Glad to team up with @SenMarkey to host a hearing Wednesday highlighting attacks on birth control access. We will never stop working to protect the health, privacy, dignity, and autonomy of women and families across the country. Thank you to our champion witnesses and partners on”.
Later that day, she addressed ongoing restrictions in Texas regarding abortion medication: “States like Texas have attempted to block access to safe and effective abortion care medications like Mifepristone, approved by the FDA more than 20 years ago. [1/2]”
Fletcher has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding John Culberson. She was born in Houston in 1975 and continues to reside there. Fletcher holds degrees from Kenyon College (BA) and the College of William & Mary (JD).
