Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 7th district, has recently addressed various issues through her social media platform. Fletcher, who succeeded John Culberson in 2019, often uses her platform to express solidarity with her constituents and critique political discourse.
On July 8, 2025, Fletcher expressed condolences for the loss of community members due to recent events. She stated, “As our community grieves the loss of our friends and neighbors from here at home and across the state of Texas, we keep them and their families in our hearts.”
Later that day, she acknowledged the ongoing impact of natural disasters on Texans. She remarked on the anniversary of Hurricane Beryl while reflecting on recent floods in Hill Country. Her post read: “As Texans mourn the losses from this week’s catastrophic floods in the Hill Country, today we also mark the first anniversary of Hurricane Beryl. Thinking of all those who are still recovering, and all those who help us prepare, respond, and recover each time disaster hits.”
On July 10, 2025, Fletcher criticized comments made by Rep. Fine. She described these remarks as inappropriate for a congressional member’s office. Her statement was clear: “Rep. Fine’s comments are beneath the dignity of his office. It is irresponsible and dangerous to talk this way about our fellow Americans. We should all expect and demand better from members of Congress.”
Lizzie Pannill Fletcher was born in Houston in 1975 and continues to reside there. She graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in 1997 and later earned a JD from the College of William and Mary in 2006.
