Justice Carlton, an All-SEC Tournament Team selection in 2026, has joined the University of Houston Women’s Basketball team for the upcoming 2026-27 season, Head Coach Matthew Mitchell announced on April 20.

Carlton, a forward from Katy, Texas, will enter as a junior and have two seasons of eligibility. She will play alongside her younger sister Madison Carlton, who is joining as an incoming freshman forward.

Carlton previously played at Texas for two seasons and contributed to the Longhorns’ back-to-back Final Four appearances. She was part of the team that won both the SEC Tournament title in 2026 and the SEC Regular Season Championship in 2024-25. In her sophomore year, she started in most games and averaged over eight points per game while maintaining a high shooting percentage. Her performance during Texas’ first SEC Tournament title run included scoring double digits against South Carolina and earning All-Tournament honors.

During her freshman season at Texas, Carlton appeared regularly off the bench and helped secure another conference regular season championship. She earned national recognition with weekly awards after strong performances at tournaments such as the Gulf Coast Showcase and received multiple Freshman of the Week honors from both USBWA and SEC.

Before college, Carlton attended Seven Lakes High School where she was recognized as a five-star recruit by ESPN and named a McDonald’s All-American. Her family has a basketball background; her mother Kacey Carlton (Moffitt) played professionally overseas as well as in the WNBA.
