Joan Huffman, a Republican who has represented Texas’ 17th Senate district since 2008, posted a series of messages on her social media account encouraging voter participation and emphasizing border security as early voting continued in Texas.
On February 24, Huffman referenced a historical moment to urge civic engagement. She wrote, “Travis’ ‘Victory or Death’ letter was a call for Texans to step up in a defining moment. We honor that history by participating in our democracy. Early voting and Election Day are our opportunity. Show up and vote.”
The following day, on February 25, Huffman addressed ongoing early voting and stressed the importance of border security. She stated, “Early voting is underway and ends February 27. Border security is imperative to the future and safety of Texas. As your Attorney General, I will do everything within the law to help keep our border secure, support law enforcement, and protect Texas communities. Make your plan”.
On February 26, she reminded followers of the imminent end to early voting while highlighting her experience for the Attorney General position: “Early voting ends TOMORROW. This election matters, and your vote will decide who serves as Texas’ next Attorney General. I’m running because experience matters. As a former prosecutor, criminal district judge, and longtime state senator, I have the proven record to step in on”.
Huffman has served in the Texas State Senate since her election in 2008 after succeeding Kyle Janek.
