The University of Houston Women’s Basketball team is set to begin its participation in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday, March 4, at 1:30 p.m. The game will be played against BYU at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

This matchup marks the seventh meeting between Houston and BYU in their series history. Both teams have three wins each, making the all-time series tied at 3-3. This will be the first time they meet on a neutral court.

Houston is seeking its first win in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament since joining the conference. In their most recent encounter during the regular season, BYU defeated Houston 79-64 at Fertitta Center on January 10. During that game, Houston had only six available players as Amirah Abdur-Rahim, TK Pitts, and Briana Peguero were serving suspensions following ejections from a previous game against Kansas State. Amani Bartlett was also absent due to personal reasons.

In their last outing before the tournament, Houston lost to UCF with a score of 72-62 at home. Three Houston players scored in double figures during that game. TK Pitts contributed 13 points and seven rebounds for her fourteenth double-digit scoring performance this season. Amirah Abdur-Rahim added 12 points and led with eight rebounds, while freshman Kayla King scored ten points.
