The University of Houston Track & Field team announced on April 14 a packed schedule for the week, with competitions set at the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational in Houston, the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California, and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

These events provide student-athletes with opportunities to compete against strong fields as they prepare for upcoming championships. The home meet also offers alumni a chance to reconnect with the program through a dedicated hospitality tent.

The Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational will take place at the Carl Lewis International Complex starting Friday afternoon with field events at 12:30 p.m., followed by running events later that day. Saturday’s schedule continues with field events from 10:30 a.m. and running events beginning at 1:30 p.m. Teams from across Texas and neighboring states are expected to participate alongside Houston.

Graduate Grant Levesque is set to open his decathlon season at Mt. SAC Relays on Wednesday and Thursday at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. Meanwhile, junior Patrick Flowers will race in the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase and sophomore Invida Maurina will compete in the women’s 800-meter event during Thursday’s Wake Forest Invitational.

Last weekend’s results saw freshman Sean Aigboboh win the men’s 200-meter dash with a personal best of 20.54 seconds—a new meet record—at the 44 Farms Invitational. Freshman Shi’eana Hall claimed victory in women’s triple jump while junior Antrea Mita won his first outdoor high jump title this season by clearing 2.16 meters on his third attempt.

Fans are encouraged to support Houston Track & Field by purchasing tickets or joining support initiatives such as NIL opportunities or membership clubs aimed at enhancing resources for student-athletes.
