The University of Houston Track and Field program will participate in three separate meets beginning Thursday, April 23. The team is set to compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas, and the J. Fred Duckett Twilight meet in Houston.

These events offer opportunities for athletes to test their skills against a range of competitors across multiple locations. The schedule includes events from Thursday through Saturday, with field and running competitions at each venue.

At the Penn Relays held at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, action begins with the men’s 400-meter hurdles on Thursday afternoon. Friday’s schedule features both field and relay events for men and women throughout the day, while Saturday concludes with additional field and running events. The Michael Johnson Invitational takes place at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium in Waco on Friday and Saturday, focusing on both field and running disciplines. Meanwhile, Houston will also send athletes to compete at Rice University’s Wendel D. Ley Track during the J. Fred Duckett Twilight meet on Saturday.

Last weekend saw strong performances from Houston athletes across two invitationals: they secured nine event wins combined at the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational and Wake Forest Invitational. Notable achievements included Patrick Flowers winning the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase; Ty Lott achieving a personal best in men’s hammer throw; Evina Panagiotou taking first place in women’s pole vault; Canaan Wharry winning men’s discus; Ruth Agadama leading a victorious women’s relay team; Cordell Nwokeji capturing his third shot put win of the season; Antrea Mita claiming victory in high jump; Kaycee McCoy finishing first in women’s hurdles; Jaelyn Reeves-Lile topping men’s 100 meters; Agadama also winning women’s 100 meters as part of a sweep by Houston runners.
