The University of Houston Track and Field program is set to participate in the 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium, hosted by Texas A&M, beginning April 9. The three-day event will feature multi-events starting at noon on Thursday, with field and running events continuing through Saturday evening.

This invitational brings together teams from across the country, including Arkansas, Boise State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, Yale and several others. The meet provides an opportunity for athletes to compete against a wide range of collegiate programs.

Houston enters the competition following a successful showing at the recent Texas Relays. The Cougars earned four titles: women’s javelin throw, men’s 4×100-meter relay, men’s 4×200-meter relay and women’s 4×400-meter relay. Junior Reagan Reedy won the women’s javelin with a personal best mark of 45.66 meters—Houston’s first victory in that event since 1982.

In relay events at the Texas Relays, Houston’s men’s teams secured their sixth title in the 4×200-meter relay and seventh in the 4×100-meter relay. Graduate Ryan Mulholland led his team to post a time of 38.69 seconds in the latter event—the tenth fastest mark in program history and tied for fourth nationally this season.

The women’s team also saw strong performances as freshman Kamree Wolridge joined teammates Carlysia Cresser, Jada Stanford and Michaela Mouton to win their second-ever Texas Relays title in the women’s 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:33.79.

Field event highlights included junior Antrea Mita finishing second in men’s high jump (2.14 meters) while sophomore Cleo Agyepong took second place in women’s shot put (15.93 meters). Several other Cougar squads placed highly across multiple relays during last weekend’s competition.
