Houston Athletics announced on Apr. 14 that the 2026 Cougar Football Spring Game, presented by Ford, will be relocated to the Football Outdoor Practice Fields. The decision was made after a recent walk-through survey of TDECU Stadium found damage in several areas of the playing surface, making it unsafe for play.

The Spring Game marks the end of Houston’s 15-practice spring football schedule and is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Organizers said fans are welcome and can park for free inside the Stadium Garage, entering through the Holman entrance at the southeast corner of the practice fields.

Following the game, there will be a ceremony honoring Houston’s 2025 Kinder’s Texas Bowl Champion Cougars. The day will also feature other university events including Frontier Fiesta starting at noon outside TDECU Stadium with live entertainment, a softball matchup between Houston and Arizona State at Cougar Softball Stadium at 3 p.m., and track and field competition during the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational at Carl Lewis International Complex.

Supporters are encouraged to help Houston Football by providing Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities or joining The Huddle program which gives financial support directly to meet needs beyond its operating budget.
