The University of Houston women’s tennis team announced on Apr. 1 that its scheduled match against Oklahoma State has been canceled. The cancellation was the result of a forfeit by Oklahoma State, which did not have enough available players.

This development means Houston’s record improves to 15-4 overall and 5-5 in Big 12 conference play. The match had been set as a key contest between two ranked teams, with Houston ranked number 41 and Oklahoma State at number 31.

Looking ahead, Houston will host Kansas State in its final home game of the season. After the match, the team plans to honor four seniors—Sophie Schouten, Chems Doha Zeghlouli, Elizaveta Morozova, and Gabriela Cortes—for their contributions to the program.

Admission to the upcoming match is free for fans. Supporters can watch live coverage online or follow live statistics through provided links. The university also encourages fans to support Houston Tennis by providing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities or joining the Center Court Club for additional financial backing beyond standard budgets.
