The University of Houston Women’s Golf team will find out its postseason destination during the NCAA Selection Show, which is scheduled to air at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, on Golf Channel.

The announcement will determine where the Cougars will compete in the upcoming NCAA Regional play, set for May 11-13 at one of six venues across the country. The sites include University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor, UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, Robert Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove in Huntsville, Stanford Golf Course in California, Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, and Ridgewood Country Club in Waco.

The top five teams from each regional event will advance to the NCAA Championships, which are scheduled for May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. Under Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla’s leadership this season, Houston is ranked No. 30 nationally and aims for its tenth appearance at an NCAA Regional tournament. The program has qualified for regionals every year since its inception except once over the past decade.

In their most recent outing at the Big 12 Championship presented by Allstate, Houston finished second with a three-day score of 865. Junior Maelynn Kim and seniors Natalie Saint Germain and Moa Svedenskiöld earned spots on the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team after finishing among the top ten leaders.

Last year, Houston competed as a No. 5 seed at the Scarlet Course during the NCAA Columbus Regional but narrowly missed advancing to nationals by five strokes. Svedenskiöld posted three consecutive rounds of par or better and qualified individually for nationals with a score of two-under-par (214), joining previous Cougar All-Americans Karen Fredgaard and Leonie Harm as individual national qualifiers.
