The University of Houston Women’s Golf team will begin postseason play at the Big 12 Championship presented by Allstate, starting Thursday morning at the Dallas Athletic Club, according to an April 21 announcement. The event features three rounds of 18 holes each day beginning at 8 a.m., with the final round scheduled for Saturday.

The tournament is significant as it marks another opportunity for the Cougars, ranked No. 36 nationally and seeded seventh, to compete against top programs in collegiate golf. The field includes fourteen teams, eleven of which are among the nation’s top fifty.

Under Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, Houston will be represented by senior Moa Svedenskiöld, junior Maelynn Kim, senior Natalie Saint Germain, senior Alexa Saldaña and sophomore Emilia Väistö. Freshman Sadie Adams is available as a substitute if needed. Svedenskiöld leads the team with a scoring average of 71.88 and has four top-10 finishes this season. Saint Germain follows with a scoring average of 72.63 and recently won an individual title at the Jim West Challenge.

Svedenskiöld and Saldaña are set to compete in their fourth consecutive conference championship while Kim and Saint Germain make their third appearances. Väistö will participate in her first postseason event since transferring from Mercer University last summer.

The competition begins Thursday with Houston grouped alongside Kansas and Kansas State athletes starting at 8:50 a.m., followed by Saldaña (9 a.m.), Saint Germain (9:10 a.m.), Kim (9:20 a.m.), and Svedenskiöld (9:30 a.m.). Fans can follow live scores online or watch final round coverage on ESPN+ beginning Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

After the Big 12 Championship concludes, Houston will await its NCAA postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show on April 29 on Golf Channel. The Cougars have participated in NCAA Regional play every year except their inaugural season due to regulations.
