The Houston Cougars volleyball team announced its 2026 Big 12 Conference schedule on Apr. 16, featuring matches against several teams that participated in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
The release of the new schedule is important for fans and supporters as it highlights key matchups and provides an overview of what to expect in the upcoming season.
According to the announcement, Houston will travel to play six teams that made last year’s NCAA Tournament and will host five other tournament qualifiers at Fertitta Center. The Cougars begin their Big 12 campaign with away games at Kansas on Sept. 25 and Kansas State on Sept. 27. Their first home conference match is set for Oct. 2 against Cincinnati, followed by a trip to West Virginia on Oct. 4.
The team’s home stand includes three consecutive matches at Fertitta Center: BYU visits on Oct. 8, UCF arrives on Oct. 16, and Texas Tech comes in on Oct. 18—a team Houston defeated twice during the previous season.
Additional highlights from the schedule include a road trip to Baylor for an in-state matchup on Oct. 23, followed by hosting Iowa State two days later. Halloween weekend sees Houston traveling to Arizona before facing reigning Big 12 champion Arizona State on Nov.1.
TCU visits Houston on Nov.6, with another meeting against UCF scheduled for Nov.8 in Orlando, Florida. The Cougars then have another three-match home stretch against West Virginia (Nov.12), Utah (Nov.14), and Colorado (Nov.20). The regular season concludes with a visit to Iowa State—associate head coach Caitlin Nolan-Ayeni’s alma mater—on Nov.25.
Details about non-conference games and ticket information are expected soon according to the announcement.
