The University of Houston Track and Field program will participate in the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field from Thursday through Saturday, according to an April 1 announcement.

The Texas Relays are a significant event for collegiate track and field athletes, offering opportunities for individual and team achievements on a prominent stage. The meet provides a platform for athletes to compete against strong competition from across the country.

In last year’s Texas Relays, senior Anthony Trucks won the 110-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 13.76 seconds, while junior Antrea Mita secured first place in the men’s high jump with an outdoor personal best mark of 2.21 meters. Houston has previously been named the most outstanding men’s team at this meet twice—in 1960 and again in 2018—and three Cougars have earned most outstanding performer honors: Leroy Burrell (1989), Elijah Hall (2018), and Amere Lattin (2019).

Recently, at the Victor Lopez Classic, Houston athletes claimed victories in multiple events. Junior Cordell Nwokeji was recognized as Big 12 Track & Field Athlete of the Week after recording a personal best mark of 19.55 meters in men’s shot put—the first weekly honor of his career. Other notable performances included Ty Lott’s win in men’s hammer throw with a mark of 61.91 meters, Zaeda Houff’s second place finish in women’s hammer throw at 54.42 meters, Cleo Agyepong’s victory in women’s shot put with a mark of 15.15 meters, as well as podium finishes across sprints, jumps, relays, hurdles, pole vaults and distance events by various team members.

The upcoming Texas Relays schedule includes field events starting Thursday morning at Mike A. Myers Stadium followed by running events later that day; competition continues through Saturday morning.

Fans are encouraged to support Houston Track & Field through NIL opportunities or by joining the Podium Club to assist with needs beyond its operating budget.
