The University of Houston announced on April 21 that the Houston Cougars women’s softball team’s scheduled game against Sam Houston has been cancelled because of inclement weather in the area. The game, originally set for Tuesday, will not be rescheduled.

All single-game tickets purchased for the cancelled matchup will be automatically refunded, according to the university’s statement. The team is now preparing to close out its regular season with a series on the road against Arizona from April 24 through April 26. The first game of that series is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.

The university also reminded fans about its clear bag policy at all athletics events, including those held at Schroeder Park, Cougar Softball Stadium, and other facilities. Permitted items include clear plastic bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags, and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Exceptions are made for medically necessary items after inspection.

Fans are encouraged to support Houston Softball through LinkingCoogs and by joining the Diamond Club, which provides financial assistance beyond the program’s operating budget.
