Houston Baseball will close out its regular season by hosting number 22 Arizona State for a three-game series at Schroeder Park, beginning May 14. The event marks Senior Weekend, with recognition for eleven members of the team’s senior class taking place throughout the weekend. The University of Houston Alumni Association is presenting the series.
The celebration will include honoring seniors Harrison Boushele, Tyler Bryan, Cade Climie, Tyler Cox, Dylan Maxcey, Ryne Rodriguez, Carsten Sabathia III, Antonelli Savattere, Chris Scinta, Paul Schmitz and Irvin Weems III during inning breaks. Additionally, Bark in the Park Weekend invites fans to bring their dogs to enjoy the games at Schroeder Park.
Graduates from the class of 2026 who wear a cap and gown to Schroeder Park will receive free admission for themselves and up to three guests. Parking for attendees is free in designated lots due to concurrent graduation celebrations on campus.
The Cougars recently swept Rice in their latest outing and have achieved notable wins this season against highly ranked teams such as Texas and Alabama. Three former Houston players were named to Major League Baseball Opening Day rosters this year while another made his MLB debut earlier in May.
The history between Houston and Arizona State dates back to 1967. Arizona State leads the all-time series but both teams are tied when playing at Houston’s home field. The Cougars have played one of Division I’s most challenging schedules this year with several victories over top-ranked opponents.
