The Houston Baseball team lost to Brigham Young University, 6-2, at Schroeder Park on Apr. 10 after taking an early lead in the first inning.

The game saw Houston (16-17, 3-11 Big 12) score two runs in the opening frame with a two-run double by first baseman Cade Climie. However, BYU (17-16, 7-7 Big 12) responded later in the game with a strong offensive showing.

Houston pitcher Kendall Hoffman recorded a season-high six strikeouts over five innings but encountered difficulties in the sixth inning. BYU scored four runs during that frame, including a two-run home run and additional runs following a Houston error. The Cougars from BYU added two more runs in the ninth inning through a single and a double.

Looking ahead, Houston will attempt to avoid being swept when they face BYU again on Saturday at 1 p.m., with coverage available on ESPN+.
