Junior Antrea Mita and freshman Shi’eana Hall from the University of Houston Track & Field team earned victories on April 11 at the 44 Farms Invitational held at E.B. Cushing Stadium in Bryan-College Station, Texas.

The event is significant for the Houston team as it highlights strong performances by both newcomers and experienced athletes early in the outdoor season.

Hall won the women’s triple jump with a wind-aided mark of 13.26 meters during her third attempt. Mita secured his first outdoor high jump victory this season by clearing 2.16 meters on his third try. Sophomore Cleo Agyepong finished second in the women’s shot put with a distance of 15.82 meters.

Both Houston men’s and women’s squads placed third in their respective 4×100-meter relays, with times of 39.39 seconds for the men and a season-best time of 44.96 seconds for the women. Senior Kaycee McCoy took third place in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, finishing with a wind-aided time of 13.15 seconds, while Sean Aigboboh placed second in the men’s 100-meters with a wind-aided time of 10.21 seconds.

Looking ahead, Houston will host its next meet—the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational—at Carl Lewis International Complex on April 17-18, where alumni are invited to participate in activities scheduled throughout Saturday.
