Five former University of Houston football players signed undrafted free agent contracts with four National Football League teams on April 25. The signings took place after the conclusion of the seven rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Defensive backs Latrell McCutchin Sr. and Zelmar Vedder agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively. McCutchin led the Cougars in 2025 with ten pass breakups and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team. Vedder finished third on the team in pass breakups, recording seven, and posted notable Pro Day results that included a vertical jump of 39.5 inches, a broad jump of ten feet ten inches, and a 4.51-second time in the forty-yard dash.

Defensive linemen Carlos Allen Jr. and Eddie Walls III also signed professional contracts, joining the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams respectively. Allen led all Football Bowl Subdivision interior linemen with eighty tackles last season and ranked second on his team for tackles for loss at seven-and-a-half. Walls led Houston’s defense with eleven-and-a-half tackles for loss and had thirty stops graded by Pro Football Focus, ranking among the top forty nationally.

Running back Dean Connors joined Walls at the Rams after earning All-Big 12 Fourth Team honors from The Associated Press by rushing for nine hundred seventy-seven yards and six touchdowns last season—marking the highest single-season rushing total by a Cougar since 2014.

These five players join tight end Tanner Koziol as members of this year’s Houston squad who have been drafted or signed by National Football League organizations.
