Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district, shared his perspectives on various geopolitical issues through a series of tweets. Crenshaw, who replaced Ted Poe in 2019, was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and graduated from Tufts University in 2006 with a BA.

On July 9, 2025, Crenshaw addressed comments made during an unspecified discussion involving Tucker Carlson. He tweeted: “As Tucker keeps nodding along, we’re told that President Trump is allowing himself to be ‘fooled by Netanyahu,’ and that ‘this is not America’s war.’ Let’s be clear: Iran arms Hamas, Hezbollah, Iraqi militias, and the Houthis—groups that have killed Americans and targeted our”. The tweet reflects Crenshaw’s concerns about Iran’s involvement with groups perceived as threats to American interests.

In another tweet posted on the same day at nearly the same time, Crenshaw criticized a statement regarding Iranian sentiments towards peace. He wrote: “This one might be the most ridiculous claim of them all: He says Iranians are ‘pro-peace,’ and their ‘Death to America’ chant is just an anti-bullying slogan not to be taken literally..? Give me a break. That’s not a mistranslation. That’s regime doctrine.” This tweet underscores his skepticism about claims concerning Iranian attitudes toward the United States.

Finally, Crenshaw commented on remarks by Pezeshkian regarding U.S. sanctions against Iran. He tweeted: “Pezeshkian goes on to blame U.S. sanctions for Iran’s isolation. No. Iran caused this—starting in 1979 when they kidnapped our diplomats. What followed was decades of terror sponsorship, nuclear enrichment, and lies to nuclear inspectors.” In this tweet, Crenshaw argues that Iran’s actions since 1979 have led to its current international standing.

Dan Crenshaw has been serving in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Ted Poe and resides in Humble, Texas.
