Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 2nd district since 2019, recently addressed several national security and political issues in a series of posts on his social media account.
On February 25, 2026, Crenshaw commented on the reported death of cartel leader El Mencho, stating: “President Trump rightfully calling out the death of cartel leader El Mencho. Would not have happened without US Intelligence. 2 years ago we passed my amendment to allow FISA collection on cartels, and it’s paying dividends.”
Later that day, he weighed in on ongoing debates over voter identification laws: “Democrats are still trying to convince us that requiring an ID to vote is ‘racist’ because minorities can’t get ID. You know what’s actually offensive? Assuming certain Americans are incapable of getting an ID based on the color of their skin. Even if it is true, then here’s a”
On February 26, Crenshaw focused again on Mexico’s internal security efforts and his relationship with Omar GarcÃa Harfuch: “We are at a turning point in Mexico. @OHarfuch, Mexico’s head of internal security, is a good friend of mine. I’ve gotten to know him over the years, and I can tell you this: he’s serious about taking on the cartels. In 2020, El Mencho’s cartel tried to assassinate him in broad”
Crenshaw has been active in Congress since replacing Ted Poe in 2019 and has won multiple elections by significant margins against various opponents between 2018 and 2024.
