Representative Dan Crenshaw, who has served Texas’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, addressed several key issues facing his constituents and neighboring regions through a series of posts on July 15, 2025. Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and currently residing in Humble, highlighted shifts in Mexican government policy, recent natural disasters in Texas, and the tragic loss of Jocelyn Nungaray.

On July 15, 2025 at 19:00 UTC, Crenshaw commented on changes within the Mexican government’s approach to organized crime. He stated that ‘Bullets, not hugs’ is the new policy of the Mexican government. It was the other way around under the previous administration. Seriously. He added that The Mexican Navy, @SEMAR_mx, is at the tip of the spear in taking the fight to the cartels. But they still need the resources and training.

Later that evening at 20:39 UTC, Crenshaw addressed ongoing challenges caused by severe flooding across Texas Hill Country. In his message he wrote: We’ve lost far too many to the devastating floods at Camp Mystic and across the Texas Hill Country—families like the Wilsons, and heroes like Dick Eastland. But in the midst of heartbreak, I’ve seen the best of Texas: brave first responders, selfless neighbors, and a community.

At 22:18 UTC on July 15th, Crenshaw discussed public safety concerns following a high-profile homicide case involving Jocelyn Nungaray. He posted: Jocelyn Nungaray should be alive today, laughing with friends, chasing her dreams.

But she’s not. She was murdered by two violent criminals who shouldn’t have been in our country to begin with. No family should have to endure such a tragic loss.

I voted yes on Sen. Cornyn’s.

Dan Crenshaw replaced Ted Poe as representative for Texas’s 2nd district beginning in January 2019 after earning his BA from Tufts University in 2006.
