Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 2nd district since 2019, posted a series of tweets addressing recent events and policy initiatives between July 15 and July 16, 2025.
On July 15, Crenshaw expressed gratitude to fellow Congressman Chip Roy for organizing a tribute on the House floor: “Thank you @ChipRoy for organizing time on the House floor to honor the victims and heroes of the Texas Hill Country floods.
You don’t always know what you’re made of—until the moment calls for it. And when that moment came, many stepped up.
These were stories of selflessness” (July 15, 2025).
In another post on July 16, Crenshaw responded to California Governor Gavin Newsom regarding state politics: “Small problem Gavin. Your state constitution won’t allow it. And second, you’ve already squeezed all the Democrat wins. You have 52 seats in California. Nine are Republican. Your state is 60/40 Democrat.
It’s President Trump and Republicans finally saying ‘two can play at this'” (July 16, 2025).
Later that day, Crenshaw commented on strategies to combat drug cartels: “We take down cartels by hitting them on all fronts.
Seize their drugs. Seize their cash. And now, seize their crypto.
Cartels are using cryptocurrency to buy precursors from China and to bypass financial enforcement. That’s why my North America Security Initiative boosts” (July 16, 2025).
Crenshaw has represented Texas’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Ted Poe in 2019. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and currently residing in Humble, he holds a BA from Tufts University.
