U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) responded Friday to President Trump’s signing of the Improving Veteran Experience Act, legislation authored by Cornyn to make permanent the Veterans Experience Office (VEO) within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The law aims to ensure continued and consistent care for veterans both in Texas and nationwide.
“The brave men and women who have selflessly served our country deserve the highest-quality health care, services, and benefits,” said Sen. Cornyn.“The Veterans Experience Office helps the VA deliver tailored, efficient customer service to our veterans, and I’m glad this legislation has been signed into law to make it permanent.”
Senator Angus King (I-ME) also led efforts on this legislation.
The VEO was created in 2015 with a focus on gathering feedback from veterans through surveys. This information is used by the office to improve the VA’s website and other resources that veterans use when interacting with the department.
John Cornyn has a long tenure representing Texas in the U.S. Senate. He secured re-election victories in several general elections, including defeating MJ Hegar in 2020 with 53.5% of the vote, David Alameel in 2014 with 61.6%, Ron Kirk in 2002 with 55%, and Rick Noriega in 2008 with 54.8%.
