In a recent appearance on Fox News’ The Will Cain Show, U.S. Senator John Cornyn discussed several pressing issues, including an alleged cover-up concerning former President Biden’s cognitive health and the introduction of a new legislative bill in the Senate.
Senator Cornyn, alongside Senator Eric Schmitt, is set to co-chair a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing aimed at investigating claims that the mainstream media and individuals close to Biden concealed his cognitive decline. “We need to get past the failures of the media,” Cornyn stated during the interview. He emphasized that this issue extends beyond political affiliations and touches on constitutional concerns regarding presidential competence.
The senator raised questions about who was effectively in charge during Biden’s presidency, particularly concerning critical national security decisions. “The question is: Who is in charge? Whose finger is on the nuclear button or has the nuclear codes?” he asked. To address these concerns, Cornyn mentioned requesting an investigation by Pam Bondi into potential federal law violations.
Additionally, Cornyn spoke about the One Big Beautiful Bill Act expected to be processed by the Senate soon. The bill focuses on financial savings and addressing taxpayer dollar mismanagement identified by figures like Elon Musk. With 53 Republicans supporting it, Cornyn noted they need a majority of 51 votes for passage.
Cornyn highlighted Congress’ role in ensuring transparency for future presidencies to prevent similar situations from arising again.
