WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) appeared on Newsmax’s American Agenda to address the recent murder of two staff members from Israel’s embassy in Washington D.C. During the discussion, Cornyn emphasized the need for the Department of Justice to investigate the suspect and his affiliations with radical groups.
Cornyn highlighted concerns about antisemitism, stating, “Antisemitism is on the rise and needs to be condemned.” He also stressed that “violence has no place in this country.”
Reflecting on political changes, Cornyn noted, “There’s been a course correction since the election of President Trump,” and criticized certain university programs: “A lot of the woke programs and policies of universities across this country were a big surprise to a lot of people – the blatant antisemitism in particular, the targeting of Jewish students. This is unacceptable.”
Cornyn expressed confidence in new leadership within law enforcement agencies: “We have a new sheriff in town. We have a new Attorney General, a new FBI Director that can aggressively do investigations and prosecute individuals who violate the rights of our Jewish citizens, and I think that will go a long way to correcting the direction that we have been on for the last four years.”
